Open Call Auditions & Dancer Health Day

Join Boston Dance Alliance, Saturday, September 6th for an annual day of growth, connection and opportunity.  Dancers age 18+  are invited to take up to four classes, each linked to a professional pathway; whether through company auditions, choreography casting, weekly training, or private lessons. From the experienced recreational dancer to the working dance artist, this collection of classes is designed to spark opportunity, foster connection, and provide exposure to the creative voices shaping our dance community. Each teaching artist represents a unique performance aspect within their genre of expertise, and participants are encouraged to explore across styles to gain valuable experience. We welcome all participants to take advantage of Wellness Check-ins with visiting MDs specializing in dance physical therapy; offering guidance on common alignment issues, flexibility, and strategies for managing muscle pain. Participants are also invited to attend the Dancer Development Panel led by BDA Executive Director Aaron Myers and BDA member, artist, and visionary McKersin. Together, they will share tools, resources, and knowledge to help working dancers navigate opportunities and build sustainable, prosperous careers.

OPEN CALL AUDITIONS  & MASTER CLASS FEES:

• BDA Member class fee: Free
• Regular Class fee: $15 per class
• Non-Member 4-class pass: $40 for the day
• Wellness checkins are at no charge to registered participants!

• 11am-12:15: Intermediate Ballet with Elizabeth Mochizuki • Director, Asian American Ballet Project
• 12:30-1:45: Latin Hustle Master Class with Bjorn aka Beon • Director, ByBy Dance Series
• 1:45pm-2:45pm: Dancer Development Panel • Led by Aaron Myers & Mckersin
• 3pm-4:15pm: Cuban Modern Technique with Anara Frank & Javier Jreffer Cumbrera • Meta Movements
• 4:30-5:45pm: Hip Hop with Darnell "Snoopy" Brown
